Our History
In 1985 ERCCA was incorporated as a nonprofit association under the name Greenfield School Age Day Care Association. Starting with one program inside Malmo School, our association grew throughout the years, by 2019 we had 8 programs and became Edmonton Region Child Care Association. In 2023 we brought North Alta Family Day Care Service into our association, expanding to become a Day Home Agency.
Today, ERCCA operates 13 childcare locations, and 80+ day homes. We are a not for profit, as well as a registered charity. We are guided by a board of directors, comprised of parents of children in our care.
Practice of Relationships
Working within a practice of relationships to achieve a common goal, we partnered with other professional organizations and community organizations to foster spaces of vitality.
We value our roles as co-learners, co-researchers and co-imaginer of possibilities. ERCCA is also in partnership with local post-secondary institutions to support students in early learning and childcare programs. We are happy to support ELCC students in completing practicums and internships in our programs.

Fundraising
ERCCA hosts multiple fundraising events throughout the year to support our programs. Fundraising campaigns include a 50/50 Raffle, Purdy’s Chocolates, Growing Smiles, Blaze Pizza.
We also receive generous support for our organization by holding a two day volunteer casino fundraiser once every two years. This event must be staffed by parent members and their families. All funds raised go back into supporting and enhancing our Child Care Programs.
